Itajaí will have the headquarters of the Naval Projects Management Company of the Navy (Emgepron). The term of commitment for the installation was made official by Mayor Volnei Morastoni (MDB) and by the president of the company, Edesio Teixeira Lima Júnior, during the SC Expo Defense fair, in Florianópolis.

Emgepron was responsible for the bidding process for the construction of the four corvettes ordered by the Brazilian Navy from the Águas Azuis Consortium, which will be produced at the Oceana shipyard in Itajaí – a project worth US$ 2 billion.

The company manages projects contracted by the Navy and the acquisition of products and services, such as repairs, combat systems, artillery ammunition and logistical support.

With the installation in Itajaí, the objective is to form a cluster in the military naval construction sector in SC, attracting other enterprises linked to the development and production of technology and defense products.
